ARL GRP Pipes Jointing Method
Bell & Spigot Jointing

Bell & Spigot Joint : This is an unrestrained type of joint generally used for smaller diameters. These joints use elastomeric gaskets to provide the seal for fluid tightness. "ankur" pipes for this jointing system are manufactured with socket end of the joint as an integral filament-wound part of the pipe and the spigot end is calibrated using machining operation. The jointing system allows for some permissible angular deflection and so is favorable in underground installations.

Double Bell Coupling : This is also an unrestrained type of joint generally used for higher diameters. The sealing of the joints is done using elastomeric rubber gaskets. "ankur" pipes for this jointing system are manufactured with spigot ends on both sides calibrated using machining operations. The pipes are joined using couplers manufactured using similar raw materials hence having same or even better properties than the pipe.

Butt & Wrap Jointing

Butt & Wrap Joint : This is a restrained type of joint and can be used for pipes of any size. This is a permanent joint and cannot be disassembled without cutting. "ankur" pipes for this joint are manufactured with plain ends, prepared for joining by roughening the outside surface in the joint area. The pipes are then abutted end to end, and the joint is over wrapped with layers of resin-impregnated glass fiber materials according to the specified width and thickness.

Flanged Joint : This is a restrained type of joint and can be disassembled with ease without any damage. "ankur" pipes for this joint are provided with flanges having bolting dimensions consistent with various standards like ANSI, DIN etc. Flanges are made up of glass fiber mostly by hand lay up. Two types of flanges being used are:

• Fixed Flange

• Stub end with Steel Loose Flange.
